Kutch is a district of Gujarat state in western India. Covering an area of 45,612 km2, it is the largest district in the state of Gujarat and the second largest district of India after Leh, in which 40% population is Muslim.
Kutch District is surrounded by the Gulf of Kutch and the Arabian Sea in south and west, while northern and eastern parts are surrounded by the Great and Small Rann (seasonal wetlands) of Kutch. Kutch is being often hit by natural calamities like drought, earthquake & cyclone. Due to irregular monsoon hardly get rain after three or four years. Muslims are mostly dwelling in the interior region of Kutch and dry farms (depending on rain) and cattle hood is the main source of their earning. Sometime long drought situation forces them for migration. These economical conditions have severe effects on education and upbringings of children.
Owing to the border area, the extreme climate, very often famine and the desert region in Kutch, Muslim community, mainly associated with the live stocks and agriculture, has been down trodden and backward in the three ways: economically, educationally and socially. In the critical situation, the boys-orphanage, which is the one and only one in Kutch, is a boom to the orphans.
We accommodate all the orphans free of charge and provide them all facilities. In this institution, the children hailing from the remote villages of Kutch, where the primary necessities are not available, are of poor families are admitted. The training is rendered here to the orphans in order that, they can respectable lead their own life with full confidence, in the age of the information and technology, in years to when they come of age.
The old building of Orphanage was destructed in devastating earthquake root of Kutch. But by the grace of mighty Allah a new orphanage complex has been built on newly purchased 2 acres of land with all modern facilities of today’s world. In this complex, construction of school building is completed wef June – 2008, education work has started in new complex.
The institutions financial accounts are regularly audited by the chartered accountant, appointed by the waqf board of Gujarat state and the audited statements are put up before the Gujarat government, the Income Tax department and other related departments.
